“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
  John 17:3 (NKJV)

Jesus prayed these words on our behalf just before His arrest, torture, and crucifixion.

Am I truly getting to know God? He wants to be known—by you and me—personally! Each one of us is the object of His perfect love, and because of this fact, He woos and draws us that we might choose to go to Him with any and every thought, concern, confession of failure, every joy, sorrow, challenge, desire, and devoted worship. He is patiently at work to reveal more of Himself to each of us, knowing that our adversary, who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9), has lied to us about His character. Beloved, you can know that every word of encouragement, instruction, rebuke, and warning in the Bible is given with your very best interest in mind! Recognize that avoiding Him breaks His heart. Rest in His truth, and pray that the Great Physician will surgically remove—as a cancer—any wrong patterns of thinking, habit, or action that have come into your earthly life. He desires to fit you and me for Heaven! Let us encourage each other to walk with the LORD, and to “…call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21).

“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:24 (KJV)
