On September 20, 2003, under the leadership of Pastor Bill Devine, the Florence Seventh-day Adventist Church (located on Old Highway 49), and the Jackson First Seventh-day Adventist Church (located on Robinson Road), united as one church body tasked with the mission of the Adventist Church; to proclaim God’s last-day message to the areas these two congregations served.
A special merger committee was formed from the combined churches in a business session. This committee’s charge was twofold: to nominate church officers to serve in church offices during the current term, and to select a building committee to work with an architect who would develop plans for the building site that would subsequently be selected by the newly formed church.
Several properties were considered in the Madison and Jackson areas, but ultimately, the site on College Drive in Pearl, Mississippi was selected by the church members. It took approximately a year and a half to build the church and school. Pastor Joel DeWild was the pastor during the actual building phase.
Upon completion, a Consecration Service and Open House were held on July 29, 2006, for the church and school buildings.
