Blessed be the LORD who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Selah  Psalm 68:19

Often it is asked, “Why do bad things happen to good people?”  But if I will realize that I am “poor in spirit” (Matthew 5:3), that is, recognize my abject poverty apart from Christ, I will ask: “Why have so many good things happened to me?” It is only when I see my life under the bright light of the countenance of the LORD that I can begin to recognize my need of Him.  Blessed be the LORD indeed!

Jesus mingled among the people and spoke about the Kingdom of Heaven. He was never in a hurry, and often surprised His disciples with His conversations and exchanges with individuals. His sterner words were usually reserved for those in leadership who had full access to divine instructions, yet had subordinated them to other influences. Such acts opened the doors to the one who came to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10). Jesus came that He might “destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)

His written Word is given to us as a record of the revelation of His infinitely loving character.  What an immense source of benefits!  Whosoever chooses to seriously study the Word of God gains appreciation of His kindness toward all that He has made, which takes one’s thinking in the direction of thankfulness. A thankful heart connects the LORD’s blessings of yesterday and today with His promises for what is to come. The best is yet to be!

Oh, give thanks to the LORD!  Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!  Psalm 105:1

Make known! Your prayers for others should include asking for opportunities to share the everlasting gospel. Ask for the Holy Spirit to quicken your mind with a recognition of open hearts. Be a good listener and trust the Holy Spirit to give you the words…

“And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.  Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’” Acts 11:15-16

Beloved, as a believer in the Truth, you have in your possession the greatest invitation of all time to extend. The Holy Spirit is with you as you endeavor to live for our Lord and grow His Kingdom. It is He who opens the hearts of those to whom you are drawn to speak.

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.  Revelation 22:17
