September 22: MIRACULOUS POWER (part 1)

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

The Lord Jesus Christ is actually equated with His Word: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . . . full of grace and truth (John 1:1,14).

This world in its fallen state is riddled with complexities and challenges that threaten to overrun and defeat us. Yet those who believe His Word have a distinct advantage that others seeking worldly answers simply do not have. Human philosophy does not bear the righteousness that is the very foundation of heavenly wisdom.

Our special week of evangelism rapidly approaches. Intercessory prayers for those around us, and especially for those on our personal invitation lists, are an integral part of the preparation. God not only teaches us the principles of success and joy; He also generously supplies the miraculous power to live out those principles. This is a message to share with the world!

I, the LORD, speak righteousness. I declare things that are right. Isaiah 45:19

Even though we have an enemy who works to discredit the wisdom of the Scriptures and the power of God’s Holy Spirit, we can be certain that the enemy will ultimately meet his end. He has already been defeated at the cross of Christ, and he knows he has but a short time. Many around us are in need of real solutions to their problems. They desire to partake of Biblical wisdom. They have painfully experienced the failure afforded by the ‘wisdom of the world.’ Most of all they are in need of hope! Our loving witness and invitation just may be the pivotal point in the life of a struggling fellow human.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
