The voice of the LORD
“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Be aware of Him and obey His voice.” Exodus 23:20-21a
Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2b
Beloved, as the objects of the purest Love in all existence, you can be confident that, as He prepares a place for us, He is speaking to everyone who is willing to listen! We have been given a divine ‘heads-up’ from Him as to the tactics of our enemy. God has seen clearly—and way ahead of time—every misleading idea that the deceiver would conceive and propagate. While allowing us to freely choose for ourselves, God lovingly offers perfect guidance:
“But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.” Jeremiah 7:23
It seems that the many and varied voices of disobedience & unbelief are endless, but God will definitely bring them to an end….and soon! Such ideas are presented artfully and alluringly from every direction around us. But the voice of the LORD comes from above, and a solid answer to every false notion is found in His Word. For example, one of many forms of denial of the reality of death is put forth as “reincarnation,” which is countered thus:
“...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment...” Hebrews 9:27
The “dragon” speaks through worldly authorities (including apostate religious leaders) saying that the law of God, spoken with His voice directly to the people He entrusted to carry the gospel message to the world, is either irrelevant, no longer binding, or only for the Jews. Jesus dispels such a false notion thus: “If you love Me, keep my commandments,” John 14:15
And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Hebrews 5:9
“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17
Another encouragement for endurance for God’s people in these days of all-out rebellion:
“Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12
Dear reader, if you are willing to be attuned to God’s voice, He will abundantly supply you with the grace—as you need it—to remain faithful to Him: day by day and moment by moment, through the power of His Spirit living in you. Regardless of the world’s many deceptive voices, alluring ideas, or coercive bullies, may you go forth today in the purity, power, and freedom of God’s loving instructions!
