For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. Psalm 139:13-18
Dear Believer, do you ever struggle with feelings of insignificance? Perhaps the duties that fall to you seem unimportant or overwhelming. Do not allow yourself to take on a pitiful attitude! Whatever your situation is, know for a fact that there is no task too mundane and no job so lowly that it could fall outside of the reach and care of our Heavenly Father. Ask for His Holy Spirit every morning when you open your eyes, which is the power that quickens your thinking: a focus on Jesus! He is our perfect example. If I look to Him throughout the course of the day, then I will be alerted to the reality of the needs of others. In those things we are doing, the mundane becomes majestic, and the lowly becomes lofty. Our interactions with others become divine appointments.
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23
