September 4: GIVE GLORY TO GOD

…saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgement has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” Revelation 14:7

It’s almost a shallow catch phrase, but the phrase “give glory to God” can become a deeply held mantra, or tool for the mind, that shapes one’s entire life. To give glory to God involves recognizing His character of love and His will for mankind. A deep subject indeed.

I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. (Isaiah 42:8)

The antichrist church actually deleted the second commandment, regarding the worship of idols (Exodus 20:4-6) from the decalogue because they decided that bringing carved images into the church would attract more worshipers and enhance worship—but worship of whom? The worship of statues has never been a part of true worship of God (see Jeremiah 50:38; Revelation 9:20).

Even among Protestants, a different image of Jesus (see 2 Corinthians 11:4) has been “carved” in the minds of worshipers. This carved image of Him is preached all over the world. A few examples: 1) His grace has blotted out His law, 2) therefore people are saved while maintaining sinful lifestyles. 3) Once saved, always saved. 4) Souls are inherently immortal, 5) therefore the unsaved are tortured eternally in hell’s flames. 6) Somehow scavenger animals, which were not created for food, suddenly became food (see Mark 7:19 - the parenthetical statement in many English translations was added, is not Mark’s comment, and has nothing to do with the topic being discussed – see KJV & NKJV for accuracy). 7) The weekly Sabbath was changed to Sunday.

None of the seven statements above are true. If God’s people are to glorify Him, they must be careful to believe and convey only truths as they are provided in His word. The antidote for false images of the Lord is to study the word of truth. It is in knowing Him that love for Him grows. The more you behold Him (see Him in His word), the more you love Him, and the more glory you will be enabled to give Him.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
