September 30: TAKE… THE PRECIOUS FROM THE VILE
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29
The revelations of God to His people are carefully selected with the purpose of establishing a solid foundation of understanding that can be soundly built upon. There is a right way to educate. It is essential to know that we are unconditionally loved by the Creator. He is the One who briefs us regarding our deceptive enemy who works feverishly for his own purpose, keeping the words of God out of sight in order to place the opinions of the men that he uses onto center stage. Satan knows that whatever weakens faith in the Lord robs the soul of power to resist temptation. But the Creator still speaks into our lives, saying, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.’” (Isaiah 30:21)
There is an ever-growing worldly collection of philosophical speculation and scientific research by those who do not acknowledge God. Through perverted educational processes, our enemy begins making inroads by creating skepticism, his target being to reach the youngest possible audiences. One does not have to read but the first verse of the Bible – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth – to find controversy in many modern books written for preschool children, designed to condition their minds to dismiss the truths of God.
Skepticism is especially attractive to youth. They often see it as a thrilling assertion of their personal independence, making them ripe for deception. Satan nourishes every seed of doubt sown in young hearts, leading to bitter fruit and a plentiful harvest of unfaithfulness to God.
In higher education, many sophisticated schools of today require deep study of the writings of godless authors whose works may or may not contain nuggets of intellectual truth. While students are forced to wade through a morass of boredom and error, many turn to partying, alcohol, and drugs for an escape. If only children were taught from their babyhood that God is the only true source of light, knowledge, and love! Those things which [He has] revealed belong to us and to our children!
How can it be that those who are at war with God’s governing principles come to possess nuggets of wisdom that they sometimes project? In studying the Scriptures, we find that Satan himself was educated in the courts of heaven.* He has a knowledge of both good and evil. His entire modus operandi is the mingling of the precious [with] the vile. This is where his power to deceive is rooted. Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but had not the maturity to distinguish which was which. This dilemma has affected all of us, and the God of pure love is calling us out of the world’s confusion. He is calling us back to Himself
Therefore thus says the LORD: “If you return, Then I will bring you back; you shall stand before Me; if you take out the precious from the vile, you shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, but you must not return to them.” Jeremiah 15:19
