I was watching; and the same [little] horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.* Daniel 7:21-22

It is the devil who attaches terror and loathing to the word “judgment” (also spelled judgement). He understands his own fate, and desires to hurt God by hurting His children, leading them away from Him. Satan’s steady stream of attempts to take as many of God’s children as possible with him into perdition will soon be brought to a close. In our passage above, the phrase prevailing against [the saints] refers to this life only. Beloved, if you are a true follower of Christ, your real life is perfectly safe, for your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3b).

Now is the time to learn to live in the pure, white light of the Lord. Here and now, maintain an awareness of the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). The result will be utter delight in how the Lord has worked in you, making you an overcomer of the enemy’s devices. In contrast, sin left unaddressed has an inherent self-fulfillment: the affirmation you receive for it in your own mind (and from like-minded peers) eventually renders the sinner incapable of recognizing sin.

“The penalty of sin is confirmation in sin. It is not only God who punishes for sin; sin confirms itself in the sinner and gives back full pay.” Oswald Chambers

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

*When Christ, who is our life appears, then you will also appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:4
