July 2: THE VIEW (part 3)

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. Daniel 11:45

Notice that the word tents is plural while palace is singular. The efforts to unify the nations of the world into a one-world system under the pope during earth’s last days call for multiple tents. This system seeks to incorporate the world at large as a unified body of worshipers, for worship of the beast (Revelation 13:4), regardless of various practices that are abominations to God. It is a counterfeit of those who gather under His wings (Psalm 91:4), meaning under God’s protection: those who worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

We are assured that Satan and his vast system of false worship will be ended. This system is called Babylon and can be traced all the way back to the tower of Babel (Genesis 11:9), and ultimately back to the very first deception believed by Eve: “You will not surely die.” (3:4) Indeed, he shall come to his end. The Scriptures express this truth in numerous ways:

Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol [the grave], To the lowest depths of the Pit. (Isaiah 14:15)

“I cast you to the ground… I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you… And you shall be no more forever.” (Ezekiel 28:17,18,19)

You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces… so that no trace of them was found. (Daniel 2:34-35)

I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. (Daniel 7:11)

But he shall be broken without human means. (Daniel 8:25)

No human is a match for Satan or the complex system of deceptions that he has developed over the centuries. Who is able to make war with him? (Revelation 13:4) But God wants us to know of His invitation to simply walk away from the last-day confusion of Babylonian doctrines and traditions (see Revelation 18:4). The Lord Himself will handle the details of making an end of the system that has proven itself adversarial to the cause of salvation. Some of the verses listed emphasize that individuals who choose to cling to the sin and error of fallen institutions of man are destroyed along with Satan on the final day of judgement… and no one will help him.

For as you drank on My holy mountain, So shall all the nations drink continually; Yes, they shall drink, and swallow, And they shall be as though they had never been. But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness. Obadiah 16-17a
