For we walk by faith, not by sight. 1 Corinthians 5:7

There is no shortage of the riches of heavenly blessings in every age and era. But how often do I live like a pauper? God’s love is to be diffused through His people to everyone – lavishly! This is facilitated through a supernatural union between the divine and the human – and, while it is not necessary to fully comprehend this union, it is necessary – absolutely necessary in fact – to exercise my faith that God’s intention toward every soul is salvation! He who is love is also the never-ending Source of power and riches. It is mysterious to me that God could use me for His purposes, but I must not allow doubt to intrude on my interactions with those He brings across my path. Amazingly, He who knows no limits of communication is perfectly able to condescend . . . expressing in human words . . . His tender care and concern for His creatures.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

In His Word, Jesus builds my faith by imparting to me hope for things vastly more wonderful than my wildest imagination could conjure up. Through the power of His Spirit, He is able to uplift each of us – to gain a view of the riches of heaven with our spiritual eyes – as we spend time with Him in prayer and in His marvelous Word. Here lies, at least in part, the secret of winsomely directing the attention of another dear soul heavenward. When I have been “visiting” the place of my citizenship (Philippians 3:20), my heart is filled anew with praise, thanksgiving, and hope – bringing renewed vigor as I invite others to taste and see that the LORD is good (Psalm 34:8).

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24-25
