I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:4,8,9

Make no mistake, temptation is a reality. And after some 6000 years, Satan is at the top of his game. How often do you feel that the temptation to sin is just too powerful to overcome? It’s as though the enemy is on a winning streak that you just can’t break. We human beings are weak in the face of temptation.

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

The word translated “guard” also means “keep.” Paul is saying that the Lord is trustworthy, someone you and I can fully rely upon. He is the best and toughest “security guard” in the entire universe—and you can be certain that He will have the final say over the devil! God will keep you, and that’s a promise!

A growing Christian learns more and more how to cooperate with God’s keeping, and as you do, you will see more and more that God is not only willing but able to keep you from being overcome by evil. Now, that is great news!

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
